Abstract: The photographs in this collection were taken mainly on Saipan, formerly part of the Japanese Mandate by Dr. Noboru Okaya, a medical doctor during the years 1921-1939. The photographs were taken by Dr. Okaya using a German made Leica camera and processed by him in a laboratory he established while living in the mandate.
