Abstract: Dr. Lourdes “Lou” Palomo Klitzkie is a Professor Emerita of Special Education at the University of Guam’s School of Education. She has served UOG as a dedicated educator contributing greatly to SOE’s numerous courses and programs, training Special Education teachers, and fostering students’ knowledge. She not only remains active in services to her community and campus, but in her personal goals and ambitions as well. At the age of 48, Dr. Klitzkie was the oldest woman to run in the Olympics, avidly running in marathons, ultramarathons, 5ks and 10ks. She is a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
