Abstract: Consists of correspondence, reports, dispatches, memorandums, photographs, maps, charts, and other documents. Most of the information concerns Guam, but the Marshalls, Palau, Truk, Yap, Ulithi, and other Caroline Islands are represented as are Saipan and Tinian. Subjects include Naval administration, courts and legal codes, taxes and tariffs, the Trust Territory, Guam's Organic Act, civil government, citizenship, the Guam Congress, U.S. Congressional hearings, war claims, war crimes trials, agriculture, public works, public health, hospitals, businesses, banks, wages, construction, and appropriations.
Description: Record Group 38 contains pre-World War II items such as corporations, Insular Force activities, monthly and quarterly reports, individual land claims, and the rehabilitation of the island of Guam after the war. Indexed in MARC Working Paper No. 44. Extent 17 linear feet
