Since 1969, when it was recognized that the core of the Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC) would be the research library, efforts at that time were concentrated on developing its collections. Reverend Thomas McGrath, J.S. Professor of Anthropology, with his extensive knowledge of the Micronesian academic research bibliography, became a faculty member who contributed to the development of the collections, especially the American period (1898 – 1950).en_US
